Right and wrong I played CAL.Not any more but was up to CAL I-M at one point to be exact. And I used Vent. Because you can't see opponents once you die useing CAL's config it really doesn't help for ghosting in matches, except for when you die say there was 3 enemies in a certain location you saw right before you died then you could tell your teammates where you last saw them.
The problem with vent is alot of peeps use it on pubs for ghosting and such. I am an old scholl proponent of default settings when it comes to playing CS. the only non default setting I use is stopsound when I am playing 1.6. I just think vent is being abused by nubs that think they are leet, and that most people that use it, use it to ghost on non CAL confug servers as well as in thiere CAL matches

Exactly, an unfair lan advantage. I think Valve should come up with someway to detect it and cause the user to be disconnected

Vent is being used for all games. Take Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Warcraft 3 for example. It is not a form of cheating, just a form of team communication.
