What to Do About SpyWare & Virus Problems!

For any of you with Spyware, Virus or Trojan infections
here are solutions and help!

First, you can try and fix it yourself.
Here is a collection of mostly free tools to de-infest your computer:

First Line of Defense Tools:
Microsoft Update for all Operating Systems
Spybot Search & Destroy
Lavasoft Adaware
Bazooka Spyware Scanner
McAfee AVERT Stinger

NOTE: If you are having problems updating your O/S you may also have problems Installing/updating Steam! If you are unable to update your Windows, go here and troubleshoot your update problem (which might fix Steam as well): http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/

As an additional step to check your systems,
Microsoft has provided a "Baseline Security Analyzer"
that will check for many security-risk related problems.

I am full updated there, I also have Norton Internet Security Pro 2004 and the default Win XP firewall on. With Ad-Aware 6.

Veri: There are other threads that deal with firewalls, this thread is specifically about spyware/virus/trojan problems (yes, firewalls can help prevent getting these but this thread is about how to remove these infestations - firewalls won't remove them).
